So The Mister and I were having a conversation the other day about our vehicles. The car that we had was a 2011 Toyota Corolla that just had it’s 2 years of free maintenance expire. That sucks……. I hate having to pay for oil changes and the like, especially on a new car. The other thing we needed was tires.
Tires are expensive!! I can’t believe how expensive tires are. It was going to cost about $1,000 to get new ones for the car. We were shocked.
So being us, we decided to research some new car options, as the Corolla wasn’t really meeting our needs anymore. It was really hard to get three kids in the back during the summer however throw in winter coats, and it was damn near impossible! They looked like sardines packed in there. It was brutal! Besides, the kids are only getting bigger.
That lead us to determine that what we needed at this point was a new car. We have another rig that will hold everyone, but it is not as fuel efficient. We settled on a 2014.5 Toyota Camry. I am super super excited!!! It is beautiful. All three kids can ride in the back seat with ease as well. I love it! I don’t even mind driving it, infact I like driving it… Which is saying something.
The other shocking thing about getting a new car, is that it is overall cheaper to replace the car than it was to get tires. The replacement lowered the insurance as well as the payment. This concept is so crazy to me. I couldn’t believe we were saving money by getting a new car, but we did.
The salesman asked if we would be interested in a Minivan….. I didn’t have a good response. I just said that I have a blog dedicated to the fact that I am NOT a minivan mom. He laughed politely but in reality I don’t think he had a single clue of what I was talking about. Nor would I expect him to honestly.
Here are some pics of the newest baby in the driveway:
She still needs a name…… Suggestions?
